Thread & Paint Revolution

Boucherat Gallery is excited to introduce its latest feature artist, Lara Scarr. Her most recent works, from the series titled Thread&Paint Revolution, will be on display July 1 - 31st. The gallery is open daily, 10-6pm.

Lara is a recent Bachelor of Arts graduate from Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo. Her academic focus was a combination of psychology and visual arts. She currently works out of her home studio, located in Yellowpoint, British Columbia, producing an array of mixed media pieces that involve texture, collage and colour washes.

This exhibit marks Lara's debut to the Victoria arts community. It will be a culmination of her latest works from the Thread&Paint Revolution series which are an exploration of complimentary and contrasting media. Each piece attempts to draw attention to the contradicting effect of soothing traditional textiles and unsettling figurative images, reticulated within a labyrinth of thread and paint.
